The McGinnis Brothers will perform classic rock and original songs on Monday, July 11 from 7-9 p.m. at the Beverly Arts Center (BAC) at 2407 W. 111th St.
The concert is held at the BAC Courtyard and is free to attend.
The Chicago Public Library’s Mt. Greenwood branch at 11010 S. Kedzie Ave. will host summer programs and activities for the whole family, including summer reading challenges, local authors, film screenings, and more.
Upcoming events include:
Teen Craft Night, Monday through July 18, 4pm-5:30pm, for teens ages 12-18.
The event is a fun night full of arts, crafts and projects, including puzzles, painting, knitting and material art.
Teen Game Night Extravaganza, Thursday through July 14, 6pm-7:30pm, for 13-18 year olds.
Playable games include UNO, Bingo and Stage 5. There will be a race board to compete with other players.
Story City Adult Summer Reading Challenge through August 26.
In the Summer Reading Challenge, adults can choose from a variety of reading categories.
Begin by printing the “City of Stories” board on the library’s website. Then, read at least four books to enter a raffle to win prizes including books, CPL t-shirts, and book-themed tote bags.

Carraig’s Bar Beer Garden at Chicago’s Gail Park at 6119 West 147th Street in Oak Grove is now open. An impressive covered bar, casual seating area and umbrellas make this the perfect place to meet up with friends this summer. There is also a selection of draft beers, wines, spirits and a special beer garden gourmet menu.
Patrons can enjoy regularly scheduled live music or watch a game on one of the bar TVs.
Private events can be booked, including birthday parties, anniversaries and showers.
