This spring break, Visit Los Alamos encourages vacationers to think outside the box and opt for a spring ski vacation to attend the annual Skiesta at Pajarito Mountain Celebrations.
Skiesta is the high point of spring break at Pajarito Mountain at Los Alamos Ski Resort, just 15 minutes from downtown Los Alamos. Pajarito will be open daily March 10-19, offering rentals and lessons for spring break skiers. SU
Skiesta will take place on Saturday, March 18 and will feature live music, refreshments from local craft brewers Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op and Boese Bros Brewing, as well as costumes and a ski race. Ski activities and races will start in the morning after registration, with music from The Surf Lords from 2pm to 5pm. Pajarito Mountain Café is open from noon to 4 pm and serves New Mexican dishes and specialty burgers.
“Skiesta is Los Alamos Ski Club’s signature Los Alamos event in partnership with Pajarito Mountain Ski Resort. It showcases the unique charm and talent of our community,” said Kelly Stewart, Los Alamos County Economic Development ( Kelly Stewart) said. “From vibrant and quirky outfits to New Mexico bands and beers, ski races, and exciting activities for the whole family, it’s a full day of celebration and relaxation. Whether you’re a seasoned professional skier or a beginner, A day at Pajarito is always worth it and a day at Skiesta is one you will never forget!”
While in town, visitors can embrace the culture of outdoor recreation by visiting one of the three national parks Los Alamos is surrounded by Bandelier National Monument, Valles Caldera National Monument and Manhattan Project National Historic Park.In addition, visitors can get a sneak peek at Oppenheimer —The Movie, The Man, The Manhattan Project – Through Filming History Walking Tourvisit free Bradbury Science MuseumManhattan Project National Historic Park Visitor Center or at Los Alamos History Museum.
