Expo 2020 Dubai: Nearly 1.5 million visits recorded in 24 days-News

Organizers said on Monday that since its opening on October 1, the 2020 Dubai Expo has recorded nearly 1.5 million visitors.

Sconaid McGeachin, Senior Vice President of Communications for Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “In the first 24 days since the opening of the Expo, a total of 1,471,314 visits have been made.”

McGeachin explained that children accounted for a quarter of the total visits due to a wide range of activities organized for young tourists.

Mohamed Eisa Al Ansaari, vice president of strategic communications, explained that improved weather conditions in the country, long weekends, and events organized during this period are considered to be the main reasons for the surge in attendance.

The attendance of the Expo will be announced every Monday.

Today, October 25th is the 25th day of the opening of the World Expo on October 1.

McGeachin said: “Since October 1, the number of virtual visitors to the Expo has increased from 9.3 million last week to 10.8 million.”

She explained: “Last week, we organized a series of wonderful activities for the Space Week program. Many people came back more than once, and children accounted for a quarter of the total number of visits. We organized a series of activities suitable for children, such as Cricket coaching course for Rajasthan Royals players.”

Although the organizers did not announce the breakdown of the pavilions of the participants, McGeachin said: “I know that Saudi Arabia has announced about 33,000 visits in one day, and the number of visitors to the British pavilion has exceeded 100,000. We will leave each pavilion to announce it. Their number of visitors.”

Ansaari said: “Activities are very important, and holidays have played a vital role in increasing visits. We also spent a long weekend, and the theme week played a vital role in the increase in visits. We also A large number of events have been held, which has led to an increase in attendance.”

He added: “We are happy with these numbers. In addition, we are experiencing pleasant weather, which has played a key role in the increase in numbers.”

Officials expect the number of tourists to increase during the peak tourist season from November to April.

McGeachin said: “With the reopening of the tourist corridor, we expect more international tourists to enter.”

Figures include all physical ticket holders, but do not include representatives, delegations, guests of international participants, and Expo staff.
