Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth of the UAE, has been announced as the Director General of the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2020.
Omar Saif Gobash, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Culture and Public Diplomacy, will serve as her deputy.
The stunning UAE Pavilion is located in the Opportunity Zone, shaped like a falcon in flight. According to the Expo website, “The pavilion tells the story of the UAE as a global hub and the vision of its leaders to create a peaceful and progressive society through ambitious plans for the future”.
According to the information provided on the UAE Cabinet website, Al Kaabi is also the chairman of the Media Zone Authority-Abu Dhabi (MZA) and twofour54. She is also a board member of the UAE National Media Council, Abu Dhabi Media, Image Nation, Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the University of the United Arab Emirates.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in MIS from UAE University and completed the Executive Leadership Program at the London Business School in 2011.
Ghobash is a writer, businessman, and diplomat. Previously, he served as the UAE Ambassador to France (2017-2018) and Ambassador to Russia (2008-2017). He is also the author of the book “Letters to Young Muslims” published in 2017.
Ghobash studied law at Oxford University and mathematics at London University.
