Part of the world’s largest Quran will be exhibited at Expo 2020 Dubai, which is scheduled to start next month. Khaliji Times Have learned it.
For the first time in more than 1,400 years of Islamic history, similar items of the “Quran” were cast on a canvas with aluminum and gilded text.
So far, traditionally, the “Quran” has been carved on paper, cloth or leather.
But a Pakistani artist-also a former UAE expatriate-seems to be making history by using aluminum and gilded text on high-quality canvas to engrave the novel concept of Quranic verses on high-quality canvas-this is the first Second-rate.
Internationally recognized and award-winning artist Shahid Rassam initiated the “Noble” project five years ago and is willing to showcase part of the project at the six-month Dubai World Expo.
Rassam received the Artist of the Year Award from Al Ain University in the United Arab Emirates in 2000. He has carved 99 names of Allah in aluminum and gilded lettering.
“Excluding the frame, the size of the Quran is 8.5 feet high and 6.5 feet wide. It will have 150 words on one page…The total number of pages is 550,” an artist related to the project under development Say Karachi.
Currently, the largest printed Quran is 6.74 feet high, 4.11 feet wide, and 6.69 inches thick. According to the Guinness World Records, the copy contains 632 pages and weighs 552.74 kg.
The artist added: “Irfan Mustafa, an overseas Pakistani businessman living in Dubai, is assisting the artist in presenting this masterpiece at Expo 2020 Dubai.”
