Humans have evolved, so the surrounding challenges also follow. The ongoing Dubai World Expo provides a solid platform for strengthening cooperation to solve common global problems-from Chile to China or India to Indonesia.

This is the subtle message obtained from the in-depth dialogue with His Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation of the UAE and Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai. She said that the UAE and Dubai are examples of living in multicultural communities. Each other is getting richer and richer.

“Our experience shows that all of us around the world can live in harmony and prosperity in one piece. The Dubai Expo is a manifestation of this vision we set for ourselves decades ago,” she said. In her view, World Expo 2020 is the story of every country and an effort to find solutions to some pressing problems facing the world.

“When we started, we asked people: what do you want to see at the Expo in Dubai. The response was incredible and almost unanimous,” she added. According to her, people want to live with dignity, and they want solutions to larger problems such as resources, employment opportunities, and access to healthcare and education.
