“Dedicated to life in Dubai and the UAE,” it says on the wall of the first room we entered the Vision Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Below are the visionary duo, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and his father, the late Sheikh Rashid Bin. Nostalgic photos of Rashid Al Maktoum.
Located opposite the Women’s Pavilion, the magnificent building that constitutes the Expo Vision Pavilion is dazzling. In a span of 30 minutes, the visually immersive experience will lead the audience through the life journey of Sheikh Mohammed, from his childhood, that country had only deserts, to the present.
This fascinating journey begins with Sheikh Mohammed’s childhood story in the desert. His father transformed Dubai from a small trading area into a powerful financial center and established a restoration in unpredictable terrain force. Sheikh Mohammed, who became the first defense minister of the UAE at the age of 22, played an indispensable role in the transformation of Dubai in the following years. His vision is to accelerate the transformation of the emirate.
The next room displays the beautifully discovered replicas of Sheikh Mohammed in the desert, including insects, gems and handicrafts of specific terrain. The collection also showcases the gold ring found in the desert of the UAE, which inspired the famous golden spiral logo of the 2020 Dubai Expo.
The rooms of the pavilion also let the audience know about Sheikh Mohammed’s various hobbies and his eternal pursuit of excitement and adventure. The pavilion is decorated with a huge sculpture of his favorite horse, and the background is Sheikh Mohammed’s poetry commentary.
Just at the previous point, we saw pearl divers sailing in the sea, and we looked up at the ceiling to capture the rich history of ocean exploration in the UAE. “I learned that the sea is not only sound and smell, but a gritty spirit, human stories, and the feelings of joy or despair that it arouses in many people’s hearts,” Sheikh Mohammed said below the sea. It was written on the wall. Pearl diving simulation.
The last part of the pavilion tour will take us to know Dubai’s journey in recent years, including important milestones such as the location of the world’s tallest building and the rapid growth and expansion of Dubai International Airport until now. Showing snapshots of various characters participating in this journey, the immersive experience ends with forward-looking information full of hope and perseverance, and will bring cities and countries to a higher level in the future.
