At the same time, UAE Minister of State Ahmed bin Ali Sayeg expressed his appreciation for Indonesia’s successful participation in the 2020 Dubai World Expo. Minister Al Sayegh said that Indonesia is the first country in Southeast Asia to announce its commitment to this year’s World Expo.

“Indonesia, as an archipelago country, has many opportunities and innovations combined with modern technology and local knowledge. The information content and unique pavilion design are the embodiment of Indonesia’s cultural diversity and richness,” said Minister Al Sayegh.

At the National Day event, the government also launched an initiative called “Indonesia Adds Luster to the World”. Through this plan, it is expected to promote the global trade of local spices. The goal is to increase the export of spices by 25% to US$2 billion by 2024, and increase the number of Indonesian restaurants abroad by 4,000.

The plan is hosted by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, involving multiple government ministries and agencies, focusing on the Australian and African markets, but does not rule out the possibility of other countries in the future.
