UAE nationals are the backbone of the young workforce of volunteers for Expo 2020, demonstrating the enthusiasm and pride of UAE youth sharing the country’s hospitality and culture with the millions of visitors to the next Expo.

Among the 30,000 volunteers at Expo 2020, Emirati accounted for 61% of the 18-24 year olds, which is the largest volunteer program in the UAE. The rest are residents of different nationalities.

The World Expo shared the figures commemorating the United Nations International Youth Day, which is commemorated on August 12 each year to emphasize youth issues to the international community and celebrate the potential of young people on earth as partners in today’s global society.

In keeping with the core values ​​of respect, commitment, integrity, knowledge and enthusiasm of the Volunteer Program, Expo 2020 volunteers will play an important role in welcoming the world to the UAE, helping to showcase ideas and cultures from all over the world.

As the first point of contact for visitors to Expo 2020, volunteers will help manage the various experiences, activities and global discussions that will take place every day during the 182-day event. They come from all walks of life and will provide services in the areas of VIP and concierge; customer service; customer service; the theme pavilion of the 2020 World Expo; events, ceremonies and entertainment; and technical support.

Abeer Al Hosani, Director of Volunteers for Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “Expo 2020 is indeed a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Valuable learning and communication opportunities provided by large-scale events.

“There are still 50 days left. We are in the critical preparation stage before the door opens on October 1. The dedication and commitment of all our volunteers is exemplary. Initiatives such as the World Expo School Program and the University Student Expo Education Program are also helping young people to engage in critical thinking, effective communication and intellectual growth so that they can play a central role in building a better future.
