Maloney’s F3 debut season follows a successful 2021 European Formula Regional Championship where he finished fourth in the R-ace GP.

Williams announced his departure from the team last month, deciding not to race the final round as he focuses on the future of motorsport.

The 22-year-old rookie has had a disappointing F2 season and currently sits 23rd with just five points.

After the announcement, Williams said: “Throughout the season, I know I’ve shown what I can do at the Formula 2 level.

“Jedda was a good result and I’m very happy with the many races I played in my rookie season, often finishing outside of the points or having misfortune when running inside the scoring position.

“However, these things can happen in games and as the season goes on, it’s not going the way I thought it would be.

“We’re at an important moment now, and I’m considering what’s the best avenue I’m pursuing in order to further my continued career in motorsport.”
