[ad_1]

A faith leader from Abu Dhabi attended the meeting in London to discuss a shared vision of peace and tolerance.

Islamic scholar Abdallah bin Bayyah met with Ephraim Mirvis, the 11th chief rabbi of the United Church of the Commonwealth, for a historic dialogue on the relationship between Islam and the Jews.

Abu Dhabi Peace Forum founder, Mr bin Bayyah, discussed how to build equal values and minority rights at an event in the House of Lords in London.

“Coexistence is the only option for the region and the world,” said Mr Ben Baye, who also chairs the UAE Fatwa Council.

“This is what reason, history, and scriptures of all faiths teach us.

“I hope that the leader’s contribution to spreading peace and harmony around the world will continue, and I wish every success in our efforts here today.”

The event, titled “Britain’s Faith Community Full of Love, Humanity and Prosperity”, is the first collaboration between the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum and the Office of the Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom.

It underscores the need to recognize shared values in the peace process.

As one of the world’s leading experts on Islamic legal principles or uṣūl al-fiqh, Mr bin Bayyah is recognized as an authority on the discourse of tolerance, having spent much of his career illustrating the harmony between national and religious identities as well as in Islamic and other beliefs.

Rabbi Mirwais said that since Historic signing of the Abraham Accords This normalized relations between the UAE and Israel in 2020.

“A historic paradigm shift in Muslim-Jewish relations is underway, leveraging the goodwill generated by many impressive new dialogue frameworks,” he said.

“Seizing this opportunity is a priority.

“We have a responsibility to build on the relationships we’ve built and usher in a new era between our faith communities, in this country and beyond, for the good of the societies we’re a part of.”
