Indian megastar Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated movie, “Jailer,” directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has finally premiered in theaters worldwide, marking Rajinikanth’s triumphant return after a two-year hiatus. The excitement among fans in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu and beyond is palpable, to the extent that some workplaces have declared August 10 a holiday and are offering complimentary tickets to their employees.
Images and videos capturing fans flocking to cinemas in Chennai have surfaced online. From presenting milk to Rajinikanth’s posters and igniting fireworks, to conducting prayers for the film’s success, fans are eagerly awaiting their beloved superstar’s domination on the big screen.
An ANI news agency video showcases Tamil Nadu fans erecting massive posters of the actor and joyfully dancing. An elephant is even seen stationed outside a theater. In another segment of the video, individuals offer milk to a poster of Rajinikanth.
In a separate video by ANI, fans sporting customized Rajinikanth T-shirts celebrate by setting off fireworks and dancing to the actor’s popular tunes outside a theater.
Some fans are captured offering floral garlands to Rajinikanth’s poster at the theater entrance.
The fervor is so intense that a Japanese couple traveled from Osaka to Chennai exclusively to watch Rajinikanth’s “Jailer.”
Yasuda Hidetoshi, the head of Rajinikanth’s fan club in Japan, stated, “We have come from Japan to Chennai to see the ‘Jailer’ movie.”
“Jailer” has been released across nearly 300 screens in multiple languages, encompassing both single-screen venues and multiplexes, as reported by Indian media.
Producer Jayanna revealed that “Jailer” has a widespread screening plan, with 5 to 6 am shows scheduled in single theaters across the southern state of Karnataka.
Additionally, multiplexes have arranged around 15 to 20 showings, resulting in a cumulative count of over 2,500 shows on its opening day, according to The New Indian Express.
