As more and more homeowners in the freehold area of Dubai start upgrading their properties, Dubai-based innovative and technology-driven home repair specialist Hitches & Glitches (H&G) has launched a dedicated bathroom refurbishment service.
As a first step, H&G, part of the Farnek group, said Hitches & Glitches had partnered with Dubai-based Fischer & Meyerhans Architects, who will be responsible for the interior design and CasaMia, to provide quality European hygiene products and accessories.
“Over the past 12 months, we have seen a significant increase in the number of inquiries from homeowners across Dubai looking to upgrade their bathrooms,” said Zohaib Azhar, Head of Operations, H&G.
“That’s why we decided to launch a dedicated bathroom renovation service, designing and building turnkey packages to make things even easier for homeowners,” says Azhar.
According to him, bathroom renovations typically take three to five months, depending on the size and extent of the work required, and help homeowners budget appropriately.
Now, H&G has come up with all-inclusive costs for turnkey bathroom projects, with pricing based on square metre, facilities, product and scope.
For example, a master bathroom with two sinks, a toilet, a shower and a bathtub measures approximately 15 square meters and will cost around AED 59,000. Alternatively, a maid’s bathroom of 4 square meters will cost Dh23,000.
According to Azha, there are many reasons why homeowners invest in property. First, and perhaps most obviously, the first freehold homes in Dubai were built and delivered around 2004/5, so they look dated and are now clearly showing signs of wear and tear.
Another reason is that many investors have seen their property values increase exponentially in recent years, and now is a great time to put some undeveloped assets into home improvements, whether to generate higher rental income or increase The property’s value property, or both.
Third, with more than 122,000 real estate transactions in Dubai in 2022, a 44.7 percent increase over 2021, in addition to buying off-plan, many new homeowners just want to renovate because of personal taste, he said.
Azhar points to sustainability and efficient modern accessories as another reason homeowners choose to renovate.
“On average, most homeowners undertake some form of renovation after five years, with major renovations typically taking place after ten years,” the senior official noted.
“Initially we launched the service for residents of Arabian Ranches, but we are planning to expand to the whole of the UAE,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
