Legendary hip hop trio Fat Boys will receive a well-deserved honor inducted into the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) at LIMEHOF’s 50th Anniversary Hip Hop Concert at the LIMEHOF Museum in Stony Brook (97 Main Street, Stony Brook, NY).

Formed by Mark “Prince Markie Dee” Morales, Damon “Kool Rock-Ski” Wimbley, and Darren “Buff Love” Robinson, the Fat Boys emerged on the music scene in the early 1980s, leaving an indelible mark on the hip-hop genre. Known for their energetic performances and innovative rap style, they were pioneers in releasing full-length rap albums, with seven studio albums to their name, four of which went gold.

Their initial success was thanks to the direction of producer Kurtis Blow, himself a LIMEHOF inductee. The group’s records boast a string of hits, including “Jail House Rap,” “Can You Feel It?”, “Fat Boys,” “Stick ‘Em,” “Don’t You Dog Me,” “All You Can Eat”, “The Fat Boy Is Back” and “Come On”.

One of their standout achievements was the album “Crushin”, which reached platinum status, largely due to their collaboration with the Beach Boys on the hit single “Wipeout”.

Accepting the award on behalf of the group will be one of the founding members, Kool Rock-Ski. The inauguration will be open to the public. Admission to the museum is free.
