The Federal Tax Administration (FTA) has called on official Expo exhibitors to benefit from the Value Added Tax (VAT) tax rebate scheme for goods and services related to Expo 2020 Dubai, which is implemented by the FTA in accordance with UAE Cabinet Decision No. 2. The second category is the value-added tax generated by official exhibitors on goods and services directly related to the organization and operation of the official exhibitor’s exhibition space, as well as any exhibitions and activities in the Expo 2020 venue.

The guide emphasizes the third category, that is, the value-added tax generated by official participants on goods and services related to the actual operation of official participants, provided that the value of each product or service declared is not less than 200 dirhams. The fourth category is the value-added tax generated by all operations, services and activities provided by official exhibitors to participate in the Expo 2020 Dubai, whether inside or outside the Expo venue. The fifth category is the value-added tax incurred on the import of goods for personal use by official exhibitors, section chiefs, section staff, and beneficiaries.

Certificate of entitlement

The guidelines clarify that for the first and second types of fees (or multiple types of fees including the first and second types of fees), in order to qualify for the VAT refund, official participants must hold Expo 2020 Dubai, according to Dubai Decree No. 30 of 2014 issued by the ruler was established.
