This is an annual festival and it will never go out of style…
Ahh Christmas. Time for magic, celebrations and extra flashes. Dubai has ushered in a grand Christmas, and one of the biggest Christmas events this season is the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony held at the popular Irish bar McGettigan’s.
There are two lighting ceremonies this year: one was held at McGettigan’s Souk Madinat Jumeirah on Tuesday, November 23, and the other was held at McGettigan’s JLT on Wednesday, November 24. Admission fee is 50 dirhams per person, including mince pies and mulled wine, 50 dirhams can be exchanged for food and beverages.
You can bet that McGaidigan will go all out when it comes to decoration (they always do). From mistletoe to tinsel, shiny baubles, and of course Christmas trees, you can easily blend into the festive atmosphere. JLT in McGettygan has a huge Christmas tree in the center of the beer garden every year.

Children are welcome to participate in this activity, which is only a walk-in activity, and there will be many entertainment activities suitable for children to make children’s little eyes sparkle. Of course, Christmas without holiday music is not complete, all your favorite music will be played to make you feel happy.
McGettigan’s is also hosting a “Santa Crawl” event on Friday, November 26th. You are invited to wear your best holiday outfits (or just come), and the shuttle bus will take you to McGettigan’s JLT, JBR, Souk Madinat, DWTC and City Walk venues, which are open from 10 am until late at night.
In addition to free mulled wine, even the biggest Christmas miser can buy five tokens for AED 190, four of which can be exchanged for drinks and one for food. All venues will host entertainment, party games and music.
