“I Found Myself” Documentary

The ceremony also launched the ‘I Found Myself’ programme, the first in a series of documentaries highlighting the achievements of workers and the opportunities Dubai offers them to advance to senior positions.

The first to take to the stage this time was Prashant Poojary, an employee of facilities management company Emrill Services.

Speaking on behalf of thousands of blue-collar workers, the 44-year-old Indian worker said he was forever grateful to Dubai for helping him realize his dreams and supporting him in his darkest hours.

This documentary about Poojary charts his life, starting with his struggles in his hometown when he had to work for his family from an early age. “To provide my father with his medicines and to buy a small washing machine to help my mother with her daily heavy work. These are my ultimate dreams,” according to Poojary’s narration in the film.

However, his boss, who had worked for five years, fired him because he asked for more help to meet his father’s treatment. Poojary then decided to make Dubai, the land of his dreams, his next destination.

“For the first time in my life, I feel that as a human being whose efforts are appreciated and recognized, a human being who deserves to live with dignity like everyone else, regardless of social status or nationality.”

He sent his first salary to his parents and managed to buy a big washing machine for his mother. However, he hit a wall again when he developed a high fever and collapsed from an illness that was not named in the film.

dreamer’s paradise

“I was sure my employer would throw me out like my first employer. To my surprise, Rashid Hospital, Emaar and the company I worked for – they all embraced me and became my support and support.” My home. They even gave me the option to return to my home country or stay in Dubai. I decided to stay in Dubai, paradise for the poor and dreamers – the country that embraces me and gives me all the rights I deserve as a worker and human being …and then I was healed. After all, Dubai is not just a land of dreams. It is a home where human rights become a reality, even for workers,” his account added.

In his speech later read on stage, Poojary thanked Taqdeer for the award. “I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to everyone involved in my journey. Without the support of my family and friends, the UAE government and my company, I would not be where I am today. 17 years ago, I came to Dubai.Dubai has provided me with countless opportunities for personal and professional growth.People who may not have the same prospects in their own country, what I have learned from my experience is that no matter how hard life is,you can’t lose hope.Even in those You will also find your light in the darkest of times, and my light is the support and love I have had on my journey.”
