The Honourable Younis Haji Al Khoori, Deputy Minister of Finance, recently met with the Honourable Naadir Hassan, Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Trade of Seychelles; and the Honourable Devika Vidot, Minister of Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry of Seychelles; and their accompanying delegation. Held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dubai, the meeting aimed to discuss ways to strengthen the UAE-Seychelles strategic partnership in areas of mutual interest.
His Excellency Younis Haji Al Khoori praised the strong relationship between the two countries and stressed the need to continue to advance the UAE-Seychelles relationship in all areas, especially in the commercial, economic and financial sectors. “The Ministry of Finance is keen to continue to strengthen financial and economic cooperation with countries around the world, especially the Republic of Seychelles, to advance bilateral relations and take advantage of various opportunities that benefit both countries,” His Excellency said.
The meeting was aimed at discussing the ministry’s experience in the preparation and approval of the UAE federal government’s budget and the full automation of the steps for the issuance of the Federal Budget Law. It also discusses systems for budgeting purposes and mechanisms for budget monitoring and spending control through the procure-to-pay cycle. Additionally, the session showcased the latest updates to the federal government’s digital procurement policy, automation of federal government financial reporting, and business intelligence and dashboards used by Treasury senior management to oversee budget and revenue controls.
