Abu Dhabi offers an incredibly rich and diverse culinary scene representing flavours from around the world.

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide said: Michelin Guide inspectors have been working in Abu Dhabi for some time now, discovering and enjoying the rich and varied cuisine the city has to offer, from creative and cosmopolitan dishes to the more traditional cuisines of the region such as Middle Eastern, Lebanese and of course the UAE.

“The inspectors were delighted with the diversity and quality revealed by Abu Dhabi’s cuisine, and they can’t wait to share their findings with our international culinary community,” he added.

We are proud and excited to discover the first edition of the Michelin Guide Abu Dhabi this November, which will strengthen our growing reputation as an emerging centre of culinary excellence,” added Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director of Tourism, Ministry of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. “By sharing Abu Dhabi with the world in this way, we can also introduce a range of inspiring, exciting and rejuvenating experiences that visitors can find at their own pace. “

The Michelin Guide awards Michelin stars to restaurants that meet the rigorous evaluation criteria of the examiners. One Michelin star was awarded to restaurants for “quality cooking worthy of a stop”; two Michelin stars for “excellent cooking worthy of a detour”; and three Michelin stars for “extraordinary food worthy of a special trip” “. Inspectors make decisions based on five criteria, including quality of ingredients, mastery of cooking, harmony of flavours, the chef’s personality in the dish, and consistency over time and across the menu.

The list of selected restaurants will be published on the Michelin Guide’s digital platform.
