The airline’s support team confirmed the progress on Twitter.

Passengers travelling to Dubai from India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Uganda no longer require a Covid-19 vaccination certificate.

The Emirates support team confirmed this on Twitter citing the “latest update” in response to inquiries raised by residents. He once asked the airline if residents who had been vaccinated with Covishield could return to Dubai.

Emirates stated on its website that all passengers holding a valid UAE residence visa can travel to and from Dubai from India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Uganda, subject to the following conditions:

• Dubai visa holders must apply for pre-entry approval through the General Directorate of Residence and Aliens Affairs (GDRFA).

• Passengers must obtain a valid Covid-19 test certificate within 48 hours between sample collection and scheduled flight departure time. Only accept Covid-19 PCR test reports from accredited laboratories that publish QR codes associated with the original report.

• Passengers must complete the Covid-19 PCR quick test four hours before flight departure. Rapid antigen testing is not accepted.

• Passengers must complete the Covid-19 PCR test upon arrival in Dubai.
