Passengers must comply with Covid safety measures.
Eight categories of passengers are allowed to fly to the UAE from countries that have suspended passenger entry.
The newest member of the exempt category is the participant of Expo 2020 Dubai.
Entry of passengers from 16 destinations (including India, Pakistan, South Africa and Indonesia) to the UAE remains suspended until further notice.
According to the latest safety notice issued by the General Administration of Civil Aviation of the United Arab Emirates (GCAA), exempt passengers must comply with strict Covid safety measures, including a 10-day quarantine period.
The eight exempt categories are:
>> UAE citizens and their first-degree relatives;
>> Diplomatic personnel between the UAE and applicable countries, including administrative personnel;
>> The official delegation must be approved in advance;
>> International participants and exhibitors of the Expo 2020; and personnel sponsored by their organizers.
>> UAE residents holding a gold or silver residence permit;
>> Foreign company’s cargo and transit flight crew;
>> Merchants and women entrepreneurs approved by the General Administration of Security of Ports, Borders and Free Zones and the heads of the senior committees of the relevant emirate’s emergency, crisis and disaster management groups;
>> According to the classification of the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration, employees who belong to important functions.
Exempt travelers will follow the Covid security protocol
Strict Covid-19 security protocols have been defined for exempt passengers from restricted countries/regions:
>> The PCR test result is negative within 48 hours from the date of departure. The test must be performed in an accredited laboratory, and the result must have a QR code.
>> They must have a PCR test on arrival, and then two more tests on the fourth and eighth days.
>> They must be quarantined for 10 days.
>> They must wear monitoring and tracking devices.
