flydubai, a Dubai-based airline, continues to expand its operations to the island nation of Maldives with the launch of new daily flights to Gan International Airport (GAN) from 4 February 2023.
flydubai started operations in the Maldives in 2013 with direct flights to Velana International Airport (MLE) in the capital Male. The airline will increase its market frequency to 28 weekly flights with the new Gansu daily flight service starting next year.
Commenting on the launch of Gan, flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said: “The start of our daily flights to the southern Gan island will give our passengers more options to travel to the beautiful Maldives. This new service will reduce the number of those staying People at resorts in the southern atolls, whether by boat or seaplane commute time. Maldives remains one of the most popular leisure destinations for UAE, GCC and CIS customers. Additional frequency in the market will also further support Connection traffic from Europe.”
flydubai is the first airline in the UAE to operate flights to Gan International Airport (GAN) on Gan Island in the southern Maldives.
There are daily flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) Terminal 3 to Gan International Airport (GAN). Emirates will codeshare this route, giving passengers more options to connect via the Dubai International hub.
Round-trip fares from DXB to GAN start from AED 7,400 (USD 2,014) in business class and AED 4,050 in economy class. Round-trip business class fares from GAN to DXB start at $1,600 and economy class fares start at $550. – arab trade news agency
