FlyPharma Conference Middle East: new date and venue announced

FlyPharma Conferences is pleased to announce an exciting new addition to its portfolio of events: FlyPharma Middle East.

The new event will be supported by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi), Abu Dhabi Department of Health and Etihad Cargo.

The UAE has a fast-growing domestic pharmaceutical industry, with both big pharma and small (bio)pharma and biotech companies looking to the region for a strong industry presence in its strategic position between Europe, Asia and Africa.

Apart from this, efficient and innovative logistics infrastructure provides excellent movement of goods in and out of the region. Etihad Cargo, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, provides specially designed temperature-controlled facilities to move medicines as quickly as possible and adhere to the highest compliance guidelines.

Abu Dhabi was chosen as FlyPharma’s latest location due to its reputation as a dynamic business destination built on its strategic regional location, rapidly growing knowledge economy and innovative healthcare ecosystem. What’s more, the HOPE Alliance, a complete supply chain solution developed by Abu Dhabi to facilitate the global supply of COVID-19 vaccines, demonstrates the UAE’s commitment to the global fight against the pandemic.

Combining its unique logistics capabilities and geographic proximity to a global population of approximately 4.5 billion people, Abu Dhabi has led one of the largest and most comprehensive pharmaceutical logistics efforts of its kind, having successfully delivered more than 260 million doses to communities worldwide vaccine. The UAE’s focus on pharmaceutical logistics and commitment to driving change makes the region the perfect location to host the next FlyPharma conference.

Tailor-made for forward-thinking pharmaceutical and freight decision-makers, the event will provide a platform for a dynamic and lively dialogue between speakers and delegates, and will consider vaccine distribution challenges, smart supply chains, remote and emergency logistics Topics such as solutions, sustainability, partnership opportunities and more. This will be the ninth edition of the FlyPharma conference since its inception in 2015, and the first time it will be held in the Middle East.

In addition to leveraging Abu Dhabi’s strong MICE tourism infrastructure and capabilities, Samedan Ltd, the organizer of FlyPharma Middle East, has received additional support from the Abu Dhabi Exhibition and Convention Bureau (ADCEB) through the ‘Advantage Abu Dhabi 2.0’ programme.

As part of DCT Abu Dhabi, ADCEB leverages this enhanced funding program to provide event organizers with a range of support throughout the event planning cycle, including financial assistance and destination-driven value-add.
