Football Association and FIFA+ collaborate to showcase UAE football

The Football Association has partnered with the world governing body’s digital streaming platform FIFA+ to showcase UAE football.

the platform, Launched in Aprilwill offer free viewing of the Presidents Cup and Serie A games, with Serie B and C games to be played in the “near future”.

Coverage of Emirates football will begin this month with the Presidents Cup final between Sharjah and Al Wahda. The match, a key event in the UAE football schedule, was postponed last season. It was held at the Haza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain on 21 October.

Speaking about the new partnership with ‘FIFA+’, FA Secretary General Mohammad Hazam Aldahri said in a statement: “We are delighted to sign this partnership with the preeminent digital platform ‘FIFA+’ , as it contains a wide range of football programming for all players, coaches and fans belonging to the football world from clubs and national teams who love it, as well as the direct transmission of a large number of matches from various events around the world.

“This agreement represents a major shift in the competitions organised by our FA, whether it’s the Presidents Cup or Serie A and some of our national team games, as this agreement will provide millions of people around the world the opportunity to watch our local games .

“The start will be in the Presidents Cup final between Al Wahda and Sharjah on October 21.”

“Fifa+” supports 10 languages, including Arabic. The platform provides access to all men’s and women’s FIFA World Cup matches “ever recorded on camera” and plans to broadcast 40,000 live matches from all six federations’ 100 member associations by the end of the year.

FIFA+ also features original documentaries, documentaries, talk shows and short films, some of which are related to Gulf football. “Diego of Dubai”, Chronicle Diego Maradona’s time management and life in the UAE.

Charlotte Burr, FIFA’s director of strategy and digital, said: “For the first time ever, our [Member Associations] Get seamless access to a truly global football fan base and build a direct relationship with it every day.

“We are proud to be working side by side with the UAE Football Association and are excited to help truly grow the sport in the Middle East and beyond.”
