Dubai Canning Initiative – Bottled Water Dispenser
Four Points Hotel at Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road is proud to partner with Dubai Can, the Crown Prince’s sustainability initiative. The hotel has installed free water dispensers outside the hotel for everyone to use, reducing the use of disposable plastic bottles.
Inside the hotel, Four Points at Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road has removed single-use plastic water bottles from its restaurants and bars. All premises within the hotel now supply local water from fully recycled glass bottles. This simple move supports the Dubai Can initiative and will prevent over 560kg of plastic from ending up in landfills each year.
Hybrid vehicle for guest pick-up and drop-off
Currently, the hotel is using seven hybrid vehicles and plans to add more cars to the fleet to provide guest pickup and drop-off services. Vehicles that rely on fossil fuels emit an average of nearly 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year. Hybrid vehicles emit only a portion of gasoline-related emissions when using renewable energy.
Live Eco Farm
The urban vegetable garden is now one of the features of the Sheikh Zayed Road Four Points Hotel, and despite its urban location, it has managed to produce a small amount of homegrown fruit and vegetables. The product is a delicious addition to restaurant menus and helps reduce the carbon footprint and costs associated with supplier shipping.
