Below are the details published by each emirate’s transport authority.
On October 6, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of Abu Dhabi Municipality and Transport announced the hours and operating hours of public car parks, Darb tolls and public buses during Saturday’s public holiday.
Free surface parking: “Surface parking” (excluding multi-storey car parks in the emirate) will be free over the holiday period from Saturday until Monday, October 10 at 7.59am. Parking spaces in the Musaffah M-18 truck parking lot will also be available free of charge during the holidays.
However, the ITC reminds motorists to follow parking guidelines and not park in restricted areas and block traffic. It also urged drivers to avoid parking in residential parking spaces from 9pm to 8am.
No tolls: The ITC has announced that the Darb toll system will be free on Saturday holidays and will resume on Monday, October 10), normal peak hours (7am-9am and 5pm-7pm).
Customer Happiness Center: The Customer Happiness Centre in Abu Dhabi will be closed on Saturday 8th October. However, customers can use the authority’s website – itc.gov.ae, and the “Darb” and “Darbi” smart apps for both Apple and Android devices, or call the call centre on 800850.
On October 6, Sharjah City Council also announced that all public parking spaces across the city will be free on Saturday, October 8.
The decision does not include paid parking spaces in the zone, which are subject to the paid parking system on weekends and statutory holidays. Paid areas can be identified by blue parking information signs.
