Free to entertainment Announcing Robbie Ashcroft as Managing Partner, formerly International Development Partner at Dentsu The Story Lab, Robbie will join the leadership team to focus on continuing to grow Free Turn’s original audio segment, driving their entertainment innovation pipeline on emerging platforms, and contributing to the The company’s film and television segment enters into a new partnership.
Free Turn Entertainment was founded in 2020 by BAFTA award-winning director Nick Hamm, his executive producer brother Jon Hamm and former WPP alumnus Gemma Bartleby to produce quality film, television and immersive audio for audiences around the world. Recent credits include last year’s ensemble cast by Academy Award winners Marcia Gay Harden, Charlie Rowe, Josephine Langford, Zoe Colletti, Hannah Alligood, Jim Belushi and Diane Ladd in the hit feature film Gigi & Nate, which opens in Roadside, USA in 2022. The company has seen significant growth over the past 18 months, with many new projects coming to screens or headsets in 2024.
While at The Story Lab, Robbie was responsible for establishing and leading a new development and production fund for “original audio projects with multi-platform potential” in partnership with Global Media and Entertainment. Under his leadership, the initiative received the green light such as the global hit “Hunting Ghislaine” starring John Sweeney.
Robbie also manages a strategic partnership between Dentsu and Yahoo, co-developing and producing an innovative mixed reality TV format with partners at its XR smartstage in Holborn. Interstellar used the deal to air their show All Star Dance Off on ITV2 in 2021.
