Abu Dhabi T10 Freshmen New York forwards and Morrisville Samps issued a statement of intent in Monday’s player draft, suggesting they’re not just here to make up the numbers.
The U.S. franchise has expanded this year’s competition to eight teams. It will be held at the Zayed Cricket Ground from 23 November to 4 December.
The strikers have picked West Indies powerhouse Chiron Pollard as their idol and England World Cup-winning captain Ein Morgan as their platinum signing.
They were joined by Azam Khan, son of former Pakistan captain Moin Khan, Paul Stirling of Ireland and UAE opener Muhammad Waseem, all known for their excellent batting.
Samp Jun Recruited South African all-rounder David Miller as their key signing alongside Moen Ali, Currently leading England against Pakistan in the ongoing seven-match T20 series.
South African fastman Anrich Nortje, West Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer and Sri Lankan Chamika Karunaratne were the standouts.
New York Strikers owner Sagar Khanna said he was delighted to be part of T10 Abu Dhabi and believed his team could add value to the game.
“The New York Strikers will be fully committed to the passion of Abu Dhabi’s T10,” he said during the player draft at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr on Monday.
“We wish the team a good journey all the way. The Abu Dhabi T10 is one of the best events in the cricket calendar and I’m sure the New York Strikers will add more colour to the game.”

Nicholas Pooran and West Indian Andre Russell were the two big names to sign with defending champions Deccan Gladiators, while two-time champion Northern Warriors signed Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga as their idol.
Abu Dhabi retained Chris Lynn as their top recruit, alongside Fabian Allen, Phil Salter and young Afghan fast Navin-Ul-Haq and added England Spinner Adil Rashid. They also drafted homegrown players Alishan Sharaf, Ali Abid and 16-year-old Ethan D’Souza, the youngest player in draft history.
“Overall, we are very satisfied with our team,” said Abu Dhabi general manager Shane Anderson.
“Our top four are all very exciting and I think James Vince was an excellent choice. Honestly, when we picked him, I really didn’t think he was going to show up, so we grabbed the opportunity to sign him. Chance.

The Derry Bulls drafted Dwayne Bravo as their signature player, with Tim David, Rahmanullah Gulbaz and Riri Rosoff also joining the roster.
Dasanshanaka, He led Sri Lanka to the Asian Cup title in the UAE earlier this month, is the iconic player of the Chennai Warriors. Joining him are teammates Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Maheesh Theekshana, as well as West Indian Carlos Braithwaite.
