Abu Dhabi’s New Year’s Eve celebrations will be headlined by record-setting fireworks displays, drone displays and a host of events for the Al Wathba Sheikh Zayed Festival. There are several other family-friendly festivals such as the Mother of the Nation Festival and Sheikha Fatima Park in Abu Dhabi City, and the Liwa International Festival in the western part of the emirate.

Below are the details of these festivals:

Fireworks, drone show, light and laser show

The New Year’s Eve celebration of Sheikh Zayed Festival will feature 40 minutes of dazzling fireworks, a large-scale drone show using more than 3,000 drones, a grand display of UAE fountain lights and laser shows, an international parade from around the world and more .Other kid-friendly activities include Playland, featuring roller coasters, Ferris wheels, and ziplines; Kidsland, featuring workshops, games, and entertainment; Art Zone, featuring entertainment, art, and interactive technology; Home; Kart Races; Selfie Blocks; Crazy Cars and more

Cultural events, racing championships

Organized by the Liwa Sports Club, the 2022 Liwa International Festival includes important heritage and entertainment events, motorsport competitions such as the Mooreb Dune Car Championship, several cultural programmes, family entertainment and international culinary experiences.

The festival is supported by the Al Dhafrah Region Municipality and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism. It has been extended until January 6 due to the large number of tourists from the UAE and beyond.

Fun Activities, Shopping, Mouthwatering Food

On Mother’s Day, visitors of all ages can enjoy the festive spirit in six themed zones – Inspire Space, Live Arena, Food Hub, Thrill Zone, Amusement Park and Shopping Zone, offering many family-friendly activities and unique culinary concepts . Visitors can also watch the amazing fireworks on the Corniche up close with their loved ones on New Year’s Eve. By popular demand, the festival has been extended to January 1st.

Live music and art workshops at Sheikha Fatima Park

The Winter Festival at Sheikha Fatima Park offers something for all ages with live music, art workshops, face painting and a winter parade. The 46,000 square meter urban space originally known as Khalidiyah Ladies Park has been redeveloped by IMKAN as a community space for families to come together and participate in an active and healthy lifestyle.
