Games and Entertainment Tribute to Queen Elizabeth

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022, many members of the video game and entertainment industry took to social media to pay tribute to the late monarch.

Rockstar Games, the developer of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, rooted in the Scottish cities of Edinburgh and Dundee, tweeted its condolences (below). “Rest in peace, Queen Elizabeth II,” it said. “A global leader whose grace and influence span so many generations.”

Other UK developers have also expressed their sympathy, with Indie Developer Team17 says “Sad to hear of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II”, and Sumo Group CEO Carl Carvers comments He and his team “mourned the nation”.

We stand with the people of Britain and the Commonwealth in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s life and devotion to duty. Rest in peace.”
