The HBS Club of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has inaugurated “The House” in Dubai, its new permanent center and a groundbreaking milestone for HBS alumni worldwide.
The “House of Representatives” was officially inaugurated by Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, Chairman of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE International Investors Council and CSR UAE Fund, in the presence of dignitaries, officials and regional business leaders.
Al Marri said: “The UAE’s vision for the future is based on nurturing a knowledge economy and collaboration. We see the Harvard Business School Club as an important partner in enriching development and economic dialogue, presenting and sharing ideas that can lead to real progress Vision and future solutions to serve the country’s development efforts.”

He added: “Considering the positive economic indicators already achieved, the UAE’s efforts to build a new, more diverse and sustainable economic model are based on genuine partnerships with the business and academic sectors. He attributed the UAE’s record foreign trade growth performance of more than AED 2.2 trillion (US$ 600 billion) to a shift in incentives and development initiatives launched by the UAE government as part of the 50-nation project.
“The House” will serve as a hub for more than 400,000 HBS alumni worldwide, including 1,400 alumni in the region and the extended HBS community. The space is designed to provide a place for HBS alumni and their community to network, learn and collaborate. It will further strengthen HBS’ Crossroads program, which brings together Harvard experts from around the globe to focus on challenges facing the GCC and the world, such as education, food security, health and national development.
