Generation Q Just got an L

letter L The sequel series, which premiered in 2019, was canceled by Showtime after three seasons. deadline reports.However, a separate reboot series is in the works titled The L word: New York It is said that in the works, with original series creator Ilene Chaiken.

Like its predecessor, The L word: Generation Q Follow a queer friend group in Los Angeles, but near Silver Lake instead of the original scene in West Hollywood.it premiered on somewhat mixed reviews, perhaps the first in a wave of reboots of beloved but questionable aughts TV shows trying to correct course with more diverse casts and storylines.To its credit, it does introduce Micaha trans-Asian character whose portrayal of trans masculinity is more nuanced than the original show Max SweeneyWho is first repeating transmasc character on television. (Also to his credit, Max did return in season three with a happy storyline.)

The cast members took to social media on Thursday and Friday to commemorate their work on the show. Leo Sheng, who plays Micah, posted a photo of himself and the crew alongside a heartfelt letter.

“I was changed forever by Micah Lee, fans of the show (returning and new), and the people I met along the way,” Sheng wrote. “I have absolutely no idea what it might mean to welcome Micah into my world.”

He also admitted, “The landscape of on-screen trans representation and visibility continues to evolve so rapidly, and I am extremely honored to be a part of it.”

Arian Mandy, who plays Dani Nunes, also posted some precious behind-the-scenes photos, and simply wrote “Thank you for everything you do.”

Jacqueline Toboni, who plays Finley, said she would “spit out BTS for the next few days because I love the show and everyone it brings into my life.”

“To everyone who watched. We love you all,” she wrote.

No word yet on when The L word: New York Production will begin, but at least fans of the franchise can look forward to it.
