Global sourcing and supply chain provider GEP has expanded its presence in the Middle East with the opening of a new office in Abu Dhabi.
Headquartered in the United States, GEP provides supply chain services and software to Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies. The company positions itself as an end-to-end player, providing strategic supply chain and procurement consulting as well as managed services (GEP Currently oversees $300 billion in annual spending) and software solutions.
GEP has been active in the Middle East for over a decade, primarily serving customers in the aviation, consumer goods, energy, financial services and oil and gas sectors.
As GEP aims to meet the growing demand for its services in the region, the company has opened a new location in Abu Dhabi. Abdel Halim Ahmed, Regional Head of GEP, said: “Companies globally are increasingly turning to the Middle East for a variety of components, materials and services, as well as energy to build more reliable global supply chains.”
“We aim to be an important hub for GEP’s global clients sourcing suppliers in the region, and the partner of choice for leading Middle Eastern companies to transform their global sourcing and value chains,” he added.
According to Ahmed, the company’s 24th global office will offer GEP’s full range of services and solutions (including GEP SMART for procurement and GEP NEXXE for supply chain).
In June, Italian flag carrier ITA Airways (formerly Alitalia) chose GEP as its main partner Digital Procurement Transformation. Meanwhile, in the US, GEP was recently selected By Eliant Inventory Solutions (a joint venture of Apollo, Athena and BNP Paribas) as its exclusive partner for supply chain and procurement services.
