General Motors Middle East (GM MEO) announced a 6% increase in sales in the first half of 2022 compared to the first half of 2021, as it continues to implement its agile regional business strategy.

Building on a sustainable approach to vehicle emissions, GM is making further efforts to reduce annual operating carbon emissions by 95 percent. By 2035, GM’s operations in the UAE will reduce carbon emissions by approximately 24,000 metric tons, the equivalent of planting approximately 876,000 trees.
The work will be done through the installation of solar panels at GM’s Middle East distribution center, which is GM’s highest energy generation facility in the UAE. Scheduled for completion in 2023, the solar power project will feature 13,000 square meters of state-of-the-art solar panels capable of generating 100% of the facility’s solar power.
