With the appointment of Luay Al Shurafa as a senior executive of GM China, Jack Uppal has been named President and Managing Director of GM Africa and Middle East (GM AMEO).
Effective November 2022, Al Shurafa, currently president and managing director of GM Africa and the Middle East, will transition to the role of vice president of sales, service and marketing for GM China and SAIC-GM. Al Shurafa succeeds Mike Devereux, who has been named vice president of GM’s international digital business and will be repatriated to the United States.

Uppal is also known for its customer-centric view and driving efficiencies through performance marketing and data analytics as core decision drivers.
