Let the Australians stay sluggish on the coastline of Palm Jumeirah…
When Bidi closed in the first quarter of 2021, it left a hole in our hearts and major real estate along the coastline. “From now on, where will we get our Australian bar food?” The keyboard men of the Palm Facebook group cried.
Fortunately, the restaurant owner and almighty Australian Tom Arnell (Tom & Serg fame) took over the space and opened a brand new Australian-style multi-concept called the Byron Bathers Club.
The Byron will open in February 2022, and its goal is to become a well-known seafood-based seaside dining destination, offering à la carte breakfast, lunch and late night dinners.
Drawing inspiration from Australia’s celebrity hotspot Byron Bay, the new concept hopes to become a palm native, offering a range of diverse concepts, including Byron’s bars and bistros, Ulu’s Oyster Bar and Tiger Lily Beach.
Look and feel
Inside, the decoration is light and airy, with an easy-going surfing style beauty. Think of the blue and white stripes of the college style, a large area of green plants, all have a unique family-friendly atmosphere. (There is also a separate children’s space and outdoor playground).
At the same time outdoors, under the shadow of Byron’s many Santorini-style umbrellas, there is a feeling of a tropical garden. There are also news carousels, including live sports events, live music performances and guest DJs.
“We are very happy to announce the opening of the Byron Bathing Club,” said Arnell, founder and managing director of EatX. “Through this new opening, our goal is to provide a welcoming center for Palm Island residents and the wider Dubai crowd, offering a diversified all-day menu suitable for all occasions. Byron offers the best of both worlds experience-all A family restaurant open every day and a hot spot for people looking for more lively places to drink and dinner.”
What’s on the menu?
You can start your day at Byron’s Bistro, where the top breakfast menu is packed with classic Australian delicacies, including your own eggs, crab omelets or acai bowls.
When lunch and dinner time comes, people will pay attention to sustainable seafood and wood-fired sourdough pizza. Outstanding signature dishes include scallop hot dog, chili sauce, papaya salad, brioche and char-grilled octopus with nectarines and tamarind mayonnaise.
Elsewhere, Ulu’s Oyster Bar offers seafood displays directly from the market. Culinary highlights include Ulu’s Seafood Tower, which features oysters, crabs, lobsters and more. You can sit by the pool in the Ulu lounge area with a tropical cocktail in hand, served by the in-house team of sommeliers and bartenders, or speed up the pace at Tigerlily’s Beach, Dubai’s newest beach sunset resort.
