Portugal Ricardo Gouvia A dramatic final day on the National Course at Abu Dhabi Golf Club clinched the Abu Dhabi Challenge.

“I tried to focus on finishing the round strong because in golf you never know what’s going to happen. It was a special way of finishing and I’m very happy right now.”
Gouveia, who became a father for the first time in September, is delighted to be back in the championship ring in Abu Dhabi.

“I had a good pre-season and I know my game is going in the right direction. I didn’t start the season well, but I prepared well for five weeks for this event and I feel like I Get ready to fight for the top of the leaderboard once again.
“I’ve been mentally preparing a lot lately and I’m in better control of my nerves. I’ve been using stress as fuel.”
It was the fifth Challenge Tour win for Gouveia, who topped the Challenge Tour standings at the 2015 Finals in Oman.
With the win, Gouvia moves up to ninth in the standings for Mallorca, with the Frenchman still at the top Ugo Cuso.
The UAE Challenge, held at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club from May 4th to 7th, will continue with the Challenge Mallorca tour in the UAE.
