The next GTA was announced in February, when Rockstar said it had developed an untitled game (what we call it Grand Theft Auto 6 currently) is “going well”. Rockstar’s parent, Take-Two, said the same thing today – development is still “going well” – adding that the game will be very good too.
“With development well underway on the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, the Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set the creative benchmark for the franchise, our industry, and all entertainment, just as the label does for every game. Do as their first-line launch,” Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said in today’s financial update.
Back in February, Rockstar stated that its goal for GTA 6 was to “significantly surpass” its previous achievements. Take-Two’s comments about setting creative benchmarks are a bit bolder. At first I thought, “Well, yes, GTA games are obviously important cultural events,” but the more I thought about it, the more I wondered what the creative benchmarks were, and whether GTA really set any “standards” for all entertainment. “It definitely sets the creative benchmark for making Guy Ritchie-esque things an open-world video game.
Probably not worth over-analyzing, but that’s what’s said, I’m afraid. After a recent Bloomberg report claimed there were some details about GTA 6, the meager comment might just be a way to pre-empt and fix the problem, namely it will include a heroine And it takes place in fictional Miami. Rockstar has not confirmed or denied the accuracy of the report.
Bloomberg also says that GTA 6’s scope will have to be “adjusted” at some point, but it’s regularly updated with “new missions and cities,” so it’s likely to go back to its pre-scale after launch superior. However, even at launch, the publication stated that GTA 6 will include more interior locations than any previous GTA.
The Bloomberg report also describes a Rockstar that has recently become a better, if not flawless, workplace – you can find Full text here (opens in new tab).
we don’t know when Grand Theft Auto 6 Will be out, but two “going well” reviews are at least closer to us than we are The Elder Scrolls 6still in “pre-production” stage as of June.
