exclusive: Gunpowder & Sky, the production company behind Showtime Cher with Discovery+’s Werner Herzog Last Exit: Spaceis recruiting.
The company, founded by Van Toffler and Floris Bauer, has hired Catti Alvarez as vice president of unscripted development and Natalie Gergely as vice president of scripted development.

Alvarez will report to Art Lyons, senior vice president of Unscripted Development, while Gergely will report to CEO Toffler.
Alvarez previously worked at Fly on the Wall Entertainment, most recently as Director of Development, where she worked on shows such as CBS million dollar mileFox’s crime scene kitchenFreevee’s Jeff Lewis’ Hollywood Home Elevator and several YouTube projects, including A day in the air. She also previously worked for Spike TV and CAA.
Gergely was previously Director of Development at Abominable Pictures, which produced Netflix’s US remake of Murderville, Medical Police, hot and humid American summer and Children’s Hospital. Prior to Abominable, she was the original programming and development manager at Comedy Central, where she worked on shows such as Key and Peel and @midnight.
“With our growing portfolio of narrative and off-the-cuff stories, series and podcasts, it’s time to add two more innovative, tireless and talented teams to the team to continue to push us to take risks through provocative storytelling,” Toffler said.
