Guinness World Records (GWR) on Wednesday named Dubai’s “Storm Coaster” as the “fastest vertical launch roller coaster” in the world. The roller coaster is located inside Dubai Hills Mall. The official Guinness World Records statement stated that the “Storm Coaster” had a vertical launch speed of 41 kilometers per hour, achieved by Emaar Entertainment LLC.
On February 17, 2022, the world’s largest vertical launch roller coaster officially opened.

“Storm Coaster is an indoor roller coaster located at the Dubai Hills Mall in Dubai, UAE. The Storm takes riders indoors as they meander along a 670-meter-long track through the building at a top vertical launch speed of 41 kilometers per hour ,” the statement read.
“Dubai adds another achievement to its long list of world-class attractions with the addition of Emaar,” said GWR’s Senior Marketing Manager, Report Arabian News.
Following the GWR announcement, Storm Coaster also posted a video on its official Instagram handle. “We are delighted to announce that we have won the Guinness World Record for the fastest vertical launch roller coaster in the world,” the caption reads.
Meanwhile, the Burj Khalifa was lit up on Wednesday to celebrate the record-breaking storm coaster.
