According to Article 3 of the UAE Federal Law No. 34 of 2021 on Combating Rumors and Cybercrime, anyone who hacks into a website, network information system, information network or information technology means belonging to a UAE institution shall be sentenced to a temporary sentence of imprisonment and non-existence. If a hacker attack causes damage, interruption or failure of the website, network information system, information network or information technology means, or cancels, deletes, destroys, discloses, damages, changes, copies, publishes, or republishes any data or information, no less than one fine shall be imposed. imprisonment for five years and a fine of not less than Dh250,000 and not more than Dh1,500,000.
A provisional imprisonment of not less than seven (7) years and a fine of not less than Dh250,000 and not more than Dh1,500,000 shall be imposed if the hacking is for the purpose of obtaining data or information from the authorities mentioned in item 1 of this article.
