Lewis Hamilton became the first Formula One driver to win 100 races at the Russian Grand Prix, regaining the title from Max Verstappen.
On Sunday, Hamilton fell to seventh place when the first corner was blocked, but when the McLaren driver stayed on the track and slid off the track in the late rain with smooth tires, he fought back and overtook Lan. Donorius won.

Verstappen started after his Red Bull was punished for changing the engine, but cut into the field at halftime and saw Hamilton.
Hamilton’s Mercedes performed better on hard tyres in the second half, and Verstappen’s charge seemed to stall when he was overtaken by Fernando Alonso’s Alps and placed in seventh place.
But then it rained and Verstappen got a middle tyre ahead of time, which made him accidentally land on the podium and limited his hopes for his first title.
Hamilton has now won five of the Russian Grand Prix eight times, and his victory on Sunday continues Mercedes’s sweeping victory in Russia.
