Hayley Williams considers her “introverted”.
The Paramore singer is leaving the band for four years, a period that has given Haley a chance to reflect.
She shared: “In addition to Paramore and all the public projections we get in our lives, we all really need it to find our identities.
“I know I’m really introverted.”
Hayley, 33, has spent some time reconnecting with her roots during the COVID-19 lockdown.
“I don’t think I’m going to slow down and spend time with my family,” she said.
“I’m glad we’re home because we’re part of the Nashville community, and as citizens, friends, daughters, sisters, we have to be a part of it, and it’s not about Paramore.”
Hailey also revealed that the band’s new album “This Is Why” was inspired by world events.
She told BBC Radio 1’s “Clara Amfo’s Future Voice”: “Every time I can’t believe it [something] It’s happening, whether it’s planetary, political, social issues, I always say, ‘This is why we can’t have good things’. “
Meanwhile, Hailey previously revealed that she finds the fame “a little weird”.
The singer – also successful as a solo artist – found it “weird” for young people to draw inspiration from her unique sense of style.
“It was definitely a weird feeling,” she explained. “It went from being kind of cool to being kind of weird in the first place.”
Hailey has also been grappling with the scrutiny she has faced.
“Growing up is a process, and it’s hard to have people watching you go through it,” she said. “We have to understand that people are watching. But at the same time, I’m not going to stop myself from being myself just to make others happy.”
