Heading to Qatar by road?How UAE tourists can pre-register their vehicles for Abu Samra crossing on the Hayya portal

Dubai: If you are driving from the UAE to Qatar via Saudi Arabia, you can now skip the border queue by pre-registering your vehicle and travel details on the Hayya portal hayya.qa, according to an announcement from the Qatari Ministry of Interior (MOI) Sunday, April 16.

In order to cross the Abu Samra border, you first have to travel from the UAE to Saudi Arabia and then to the border town of Salwar.

Pre-registration procedure at the Abu Samra border.

Step 1: Create an Account on Hayya Portal

– Visit Hayya Portal – https://hayya.qa/en/ and click on “Abu Samra Border Pre-registration”.
– If you do not have an account, click Register.
– Enter your email address and click “Send Verification Code”. Enter the verification sent to your email and create. A password.
– Then you will go to Abu Samra border registration website – https://move.hayya.qa/home
– Click the “Pre-register” button.
– Log in with your new account details.

Step 2: Enter vehicle registration details

– Click the “Add Vehicle” button.
– Enter the car name – that is the car model and manufacturer name.
– Enter the owner’s name and mobile number.
– Select the GCC country where the vehicle is registered.
– If you selected UAE, select the emirate in which the vehicle is registered.
– Enter the license plate number of the car.
– Select the vehicle type as “Private” and select the license plate color.
– Click “Submit”.
– If you are traveling one way, please enter your arrival date. Otherwise, please enter your arrival and departure dates from Qatar.
– Once you have submitted your vehicle registration details, you will receive a notification that a request has been made and that the application is currently in ‘pending’ status.

Step 3: Upload required documents

– After verifying the details, you will receive SMS and email. You can then submit the necessary documents and details, which include:
• photocopy of passport.
• Qatar entry permit for GCC residents – you must apply for a visa before pre-registering your vehicle.click here Complete guide on how to apply for Qatar Entry Permit through the new Hayya Portal. The license fee is 100 Qatari Riyals (Dh100.49).
• UAE residency visa or GCC resident permit (if you are a GCC resident).
• Copy of valid passport
• Passport details – nationality, passport issue date and expiry date.
– After submitting your application, you will need to ensure that all vehicle insurance payments are made 24 hours prior to arrival at the Abu Samra border checkpoint, as per Qatar’s Ministry of Interior regulations.

Step Four: Receive Vehicle Entry Permit via Email

– After submitting your documents, you will receive a tracking status number on your mobile phone and email address. Once your application is approved by the Hayya Portal, you will receive an email with a vehicle entry permit that will allow you to enter the pre-registered lane at the Abu Samra border crossing.
