Heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms hit cities and regions on Saturday. Light to moderate rain in Abu Dhabi and Al Dhafra areas.
The rain flooded the area’s main streets and valleys. The municipality of Fujairah and the municipalities of Khorfakkan and Kalba mobilized their teams to pump the water.
Fujairah police warned against gatherings near the valley. Police appeal to members of the public and road users to proceed with caution.
The city of Fujairah deployed mechanically equipped teams on several major streets, and the team in Kalba city was able to clean up stormwater using equipment that directly pumps rainwater. And the Khorfakkan municipality has followed the same approach and is able to treat the pools as needed.
The Fujairah Police General Command said on its digital platform that the emirate is witnessing the formation of cumulus clouds, accompanied by moderate to heavy rain, hail and high winds. All road users must be careful when driving on the road, keep a safe distance between vehicles, avoid going into the sea, stay away from valleys and places with standing water.
