DUBAI – New changes announced by the United Arab Emirates have increased the cost of transit visas.

UAE 96-hour transit visa fees increased from Dh148.93 to Dh218.78. On the other hand, there is no fee charged for the 48-hour transit visa.

No specific details have been published on the immigration website, but visa outsourcing company VFS Global has confirmed the change in visa fees.

At the same time, the express 96-hour transit visa fee has also been raised. The new fee for this type of visa is AED 307.22. UAE visas are valid for 30 days and the duration of stay is 96 hours from the date of entry.

The emirates are rolling out sweeping reforms to attract tourists and skilled workers from around the world. The UAE’s Golden Visa program is also seen as a viable opportunity for all businessmen and investors who can live hassle-free in the UAE.

The status of the UAE in the international community is now recognized. Its passport was recently ranked No. 1 in the world in the Nomad Capitalism Index, jumping up from 35 places previously.

“This is largely due to recent changes allowing foreigners to apply for dual citizenship, which, combined with the freedom of travel afforded by the UAE passport, combined with the country’s business-friendly environment and enviable tax regime, make the UAE our top choice for 2023” reported.

The United Arab Emirates has been in the spotlight for a year thanks to a number of events, the most recent being the Dubai World Expo, where millions of people visited the country in awe of the progress the country has made in a short period of time.
