Higher Institute of Technology to open new campus in Abu Dhabi in 2023-2024

Dubai: The Higher College of Technology (HCT) has unveiled a bold vision to transform the applied education landscape in the UAE, focusing on delivering job market-ready higher education opportunities.

During a press conference at HCT Dubai Boys’ campus on Friday, the college also announced that it will open a brand new campus in Baniyas, Abu Dhabi, in 2023-24.

Educators said the college’s innovative 2023-2028 strategic vision, aligned with the UAE’s national future vision, will see the country’s largest applied higher education institution equip students with future-ready skills and competencies.

HCT unveiled its dynamic work-study model, forged through partnerships between academia and industry, to ensure HCT graduates have in-demand, industry-relevant skills. As such, the institution is committed to improving the quality of educational services and aligning them with international performance and assessment standards. Ultimately, the goal is to develop an exceptional national human capital with the qualitative skills and competencies required for future employment opportunities and vital sectors of the UAE’s key industries.

HCT Strategic Vision

The HCT strategic vision will focus on applied learning to advance educational goals and vocational training programs. It will pioneer innovative programs that align seamlessly with the dynamic needs of the job market, while adhering to international standards in applied education. This innovative approach, scheduled to begin in the 2023-2024 school year, reflects HCT’s unwavering commitment to shaping the future of education and equipping students with valuable skills for success.

Under the new model, HCT will open new student registrations to five core programs – Health Sciences, Business, Engineering and Science Technology, Computer Information Science and Education. In addition, HCT will provide applicants with educational opportunities tailored to their unique abilities and interests by implementing three distinct study paths, each with its own admissions criteria corresponding to different student levels. This will enable all high school graduates, regardless of academic level, to be able and able to seek admission to HCT.

A new campus, the HCT Campus, will open in Baniyas, Abu Dhabi between 2023 and 2024. The campus covers an area of ​​220,000 square meters and will welcome more than 10,000 students. It houses buildings dedicated to student use, including separate facilities for men and women, as well as the main administration building, central services and an auditorium with a capacity of over 1,200 seats. The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms, state-of-the-art laboratories, and a wide variety of facilities and services, adhering to contemporary design and sustainability standards.
