Marvel Studios releases trailer for upcoming documentary stan leea tribute to the legendary comic book creators behind some of the most iconic characters in history.

The highly anticipated film, which premieres June 16 on Disney+, is described as “his origin story. His legacy. In his own words.”

Featuring black-and-white footage from the 1920s and 1930s, the 90-second trailer offers a nostalgic glimpse into Marvel Comics history as Lee shares the beginnings of his creative journey.

In the trailer, Lee describes how he read a lot during the Depression, saying, “We didn’t have any money, and it was during the Depression, but I read everything I could get my hands on. Man, I feel like I Can go anywhere.”

He also revealed his goals for making comic stories, saying, “What I try to do is write the kind of stories that I want to read.”

The documentary’s trailer also showcases Stan Lee’s infectious positivity and his lasting impact on the Marvel Universe, including touching behind-the-scenes footage of his interactions with Marvel talent.

Lee, who first joined Marvel (then called Timely Comics) in 1939, died in 2018 at the age of 95. He was eventually promoted to editor of the company and, along with established artists such as Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, helped create the multiple superheroes that defined the genre throughout the 1960s.

Lee’s creations, including Fantastic Four, Spiderman, Hulkand x-menchanged the superhero genre forever.
