HITEK, a leading UAE-based IT smart facility management (FM) solutions company and part of the Farnek group of companies, has launched a creative and innovative mobile app for on-demand cleaning at Abu Dhabi University.
Through the mobile app, both students and staff can now schedule cleanings for their residence halls and staff housing.
“Abu Dhabi University (ADU) is at the forefront of technological innovation, utilizing state-of-the-art technology to automate and enhance services for students.
“Our 447 students, who live in over 330 rooms, now have the flexibility to schedule their own cleaning when it suits them. As digital natives, students prefer to use technology to organize this service.
“It is beneficial for the university to have a trusted partner to enter the residence halls, clean them and bill the students directly,” said Dr Hamad Odhabi, Vice-Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University.
The app meets the needs of consumers and businesses alike, and is designed for those who have difficulty scheduling regular cleanings at convenient times or on specific days, or indeed those who want instant ad-hoc or more flexible schedules.
“After downloading the app, customers can choose hourly, weekly or monthly packages. They will then be redirected to a registration page where personal details will be verified via an OTP sent to their registered email address. Customers can From here manage their accounts and add additional addresses,” commented HITEK Managing Director Javeria Aijaz.
After a successful registration, the user will be taken to the booking screen where they can select the desired date and time slot and the number of hours they require cleaning services. To complete the booking process, users are taken to a payment page with simple and secure integrated online payment.
“Once a booking is received and approved by one of our cleaning supervisors, a team is assigned to complete the job and an email notification is sent to the customer. Users can follow their cleaning team in real-time via a link in Google Maps so they will know their location and exact time of arrival,” said Osama Hussein, Director of Software Services and Security at Farnek.
Another useful feature of the app is that customers can view details of their current booking schedule, as well as view other pending or completed tasks.
“This is especially useful for users with multiple properties, such as vacation rentals. They can track their cleaning schedule remotely, especially when guests have just moved out or before new guests arrive,” adds Aijaz.
After the cleaning is complete, customers can rate the performance and quality of the service they received and make other general comments or suggestions.
