Honeywell launches new healthy building services program

[ad_1]

Honeywell, the global automation leader, announced a new Healthy Building Services program to help building owners and operators track and improve indoor environmental quality, promote overall building health and occupant well-being, and earn industry recognition for its efforts.

Backed by an assessment and certification system from third-party organisations, the program enables owners and operators to assess building performance, take steps to improve indoor air quality, and ensure their efforts are making a difference.

Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) refers to the operation of spaces that make them healthier, more comfortable and energy efficient, including factors such as Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), lighting and thermal conditions.

As a key factor in the IEQ, air quality affects occupant well-being and productivity, energy efficiency and real estate value.

“As the pandemic recedes, the importance of improving indoor air quality will not disappear,” said Umar Khan, general manager, building technologies sustainability, smart cities and energy, Honeywell Middle East, Turkey and Africa.

“As more workers return to the office full-time or with mixed schedules, they want assurances from their employers that their wellbeing is a priority. We’re working to make it more affordable for building owners to have more confidence in their building health data through off-the-shelf ways to improve upon their solutions, and the chance to be commended for the work they do to make buildings healthier,” he added.

Honeywell Healthy Building Services will enable building owners to:

• Obtain unbiased assessments from third-party organizations: Independent third-party IEQ assessments by UL Solutions, within the scope of their UL Certified Healthy Buildings program, and DNA tracer-based IAQ performance verification by SafeTraces provide clarity and impartiality The assessment’s perception of improvements needed to improve overall building health.

• Take action to visualize, optimize and control IAQ: Provides IAQ performance monitoring, analysis and improvement backed by maintenance support and calibration, enabling companies to address IAQ upgrades as OPEX rather than CAPEX.

• Assess progress and ensure quality of work: Honeywell’s WELL Accredited Professionals (WELL APs) evaluate more than 500 evidence-based interventions as part of the overall Building WELL Standard and recommend WELL strategies to help building owners and operators achieve WELL Certification or WELL Rating from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI).

Honeywell was one of the first building technology companies to receive WELL Enterprise Provider (WELL EP) designation, enabling it to offer this service to its clients.

“Honeywell’s designation as a WELL Enterprise Provider enables it to work closely and more effectively with IWBI to deliver the many benefits of the WELL strategy across real estate portfolios and across organizations, further helping to improve and enhance people’s well-being at scale. well-being,” commented Rachel Hodgdon, IWBI President and CEO.

The Future of Health, Wellness and Innovation Forum, the inaugural Innovation and Wellness event organized by Delos (parent company of IWBI) and Dubai Land Department at the Museum of the Future in December, brought together industry experts to discuss how to continue to drive innovation in healthier spaces.

Paul Scialla, Founder and CEO of Delos and Founder of IWBI, said: “Healthy buildings and occupant well-being are increasingly important, and innovation can play an important role in supporting these efforts. Our recent event brings together health, wellness and Innovation experts exchanging ideas and sharing strategies for a healthier and more sustainable MENA region.”

“We are also pleased to recognize Honeywell’s contribution to advancing innovation and health in the built environment,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
